Smashing Misconceptions: Confirmation- The Beautiful Theology We've Been Missing & Engaging Families

For generations the faithful have largely misunderstood Confirmation - it’s time to smash those misconceptions. The session offers a fresh way of articulating of what Confirmation is and how it makes sense; how the impact of Confirmation is as important as sports/scholastics; guides for engaging teens before/during/after Confirmation.

  • Session Outcome 1:You’ll get a fresh overview of the history and theology of Confirmation like you’ve never/rarely heard before. Using scripture, history, and theology of the sacraments of initiation, we’ll look at where the sacrament originated, the tangible effects of it, and why it's been so misunderstood.
  • Session Outcome 2:You’ll get practical tips on how to articulate to teens and parents why Confirmation not only makes sense but why it is one of the most important things in preparing a person for life/adulthood. You'll see how the Holy Spirit forms a person in ways sports, extracurriculars, and academics do not.
  • Session Outcome 3:You’ll get a plan that works with any Confirmation curriculum for helping teens/families discern how God is calling them to use the gifts of the Holy Spirit and how Youth Ministers/Volunteers can work with them before/during/after Confirmation.
